How hard is it to sew mulberry silk? Could I make a teddy bear out of it?
So I make stuffed animals regularly and am extremely well experienced in making them. One of my nail stylist just had a baby and I really want to make her a teddy bear out of traditional fabric from her country, which would be mulberry silk. The thing is I've never sewn with this fabric before. How does it behave? Does it fray a lot? Are the seams just going to all come apart? When I've tried to make stuffed animals out of brocade fabrics the seams really struggled to hold up even with stabilizer. I've never touched silk before in sewing so I have no idea what to expect. Also any other recommendations for traditionally Vietnamese fabrics that might work better for a teddy bear? The fabric also needs to be able to hold up to machine embroidery for the face details so its baby safe from chocking hazards. Last night my friend [21F] and I [20F] had a “talk” about what has been bothering her within our friendship. She explains how she thinks i’m constantly negative, how I don’t treat her boyfriend right and when she goes to me for consolation about their relationship I “just tell them to break up”, she also brought up some other things about how i’m immature and how i need to grow up. I remind her that we are with each other basically 24/7- we go to uni together, the same major, the same classes.. I decide to let some stuff off my chest as well, communicating i don’t like that she constantly invites him to outings we plan (concerts, comedy club, renaissance fair) that she knows he won’t enjoy. her reasoning behind this was that since neither of us have a car (we live out of state) and her dad won’t buy us uber’s (never have i asked for her dad to buy us an uber) she invites him to come. but she still goes on about how her boyfriend doesn’t feel comfortable around me and he feels like i judge him.she decides that the three of us won’t hang out together,which is fine. i just think that this conversation wasn’t really necessary, i view her a completely different now and i feel like i can’t be myself anymore. i feel like she thinks i’ve been using her boyfriend and her for free rides places. i just feel like her boyfriend has been pumping her head up with all of this stuff. When signing up for venmo YEARS ago i accidentally typed “gmail.cpm” on my email. Since then I got a new phone like a week later and I’ve just never been able to sign in since you need a code from your phone AND email to sign in on a new device. I’m also pretty sure I used an alias for my name so verifying my identity won’t work, I can’t create a new account because it just tells me “you already have an account” when trying to use my phone number.
